Assistant D. A. Samantha Crouch and attorney William Howard McDowell flank Elbis Torres during sentencing. Mr. Torres, the third and final person at the Whiteside home for the robbery, pled guilty Friday, March 24 to a reduced charge of murder, a first degree felony.
He was sentenced to 30 years in prison by Eighth Judicial District Judge Robert Newsom as part of a plea bargain agreement. For more information, see the April 2 edition of the Optic-Herald.
