Wayne Defebaugh directs the Blacklands Railroad operations. The company is currently straightening tracks and repacking support rock along the 65 miles of track between Winfield and Greenville.
The yellow machine seen beside one of the company’s engines was in Mount Vernon last week for that work. Cost of the project is $.70 per foot of track. See a story in the May 14 edition of the Optic-Herald about the Blacklands Railroad being named one of the nation’s best operations.
