Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

Gabriel Cainan Wood, age 23 of Mount Vernon, graduated from Officer Candidate School for the U. S. Navy in Newport, R.I., on Friday, April 17. He was appointed to rank of Ensign upon graduation of OCS and he will be stationed in Pensacola, Fla., for flight training to be a Navy Jet Pilot. He graduated from Southwestern Methodist University in 2008 with a bachelor’s of art degree. He is a 2004 graduate of Mount Vernon High School. He is the son of Danielle Wood of Franklin County and Scott Keesling of California. He is the grandson of Jean and Gene Huskey of Mount Vernon.
