Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

The economic downturn has given Mount Vernon schools a break in the price of their new elementary building. Bids received for construction of the  building came in $3.8 million less than projected.Bids for constructing the high school dining hall and the district’s bus barn both came in higher than originally estimated.
