Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

The City of Mount Vernon and Mount Vernon Independent School District (ISD) want to encourage children to walk to school, and are planning ways to make it safer. The city and school are looking for comments from local residents concerning what can be done and where. The comments are a part of the efforts to apply for up to $500,000 in grant funding for sidewalks, crosswalks, bicycle racks and signs.
