Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

Six eighth grade students, Marcus Hollingsworth, Alexa Marquardt, Abby Haller, Sage Miller, Erick Van, and Aaron Nguyen, were selected to advance from the local Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest. The contest is sponsored annually by the Franklin County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3992. Those earning the right to advance to district competition also earned a $100 U. S.
