National Honor Society induction ceremonies were conducted in the lecture hall at Mount Vernon High School on Wednesday, Dec. 10. Officers for the 2008-09 school year and new members were inducted into the society. Jordan Mayes was voted the group’s president. Mia Mendez was named the vice-president, Shelbie Stickles is secretary, and Laci Jeter is the  treasurer. See the Dec. 18 edition of the Optic-Herald for more details.
