Haley Golden qualified to compete at the state solo and ensemble event in Pflugerville, Tex., in May. She qualified for the event with her memorized clarinet solo, Adagio and Tarantella by Ernesto Cavallini. She received a first division rating at the Region IV UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest at North Lamar High School in Paris on Saturday, Feb. 20.  For more information, see the Feb. 25 edition of the Optic-Herald
