Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

The students at Mount Vernon Elementary school raised $7,116.89 for the Jump Rope for Heart Association this year. The program is sponsored by the American Heart Association and teaches students about how their heart works and how to take care of it. The students solicit donations from family and friends, then jump rope during physical education classes to fulfill their commitment.
