There was not a dry eye in the house as an end of an era was celebrated at the FFA banquet on Monday, May 10. David Maxton, the last of the three long term ag teachers, is retiring. Pct. 1 Commissioner Danny Chitsey presented Mr. Maxton, Bruce Hunnicutt, and Donnie Surratt with photographs to show  appreciation to the trio for everything they have contributed to the local FFA organization and to Mount Vernon ISD.
