Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

Lisa Taylor’s fifth grade homeroom class recently participated in the ATPE, Association of Texas Professional Educators, Book of the Month Club.
ATPE chooses books from the Texas Library Association reading list. From the books chosen by ATPE, teachers are invited to choose a book to read with their class and become “guest readers”.  Mrs. Taylor’s class chose to read the book Umbrella Summer by Lisa Graff about a young girl dealing with the sudden death of her older brother. ATPE will post a picture of the class on their website in September congratulating them on their achievement.  See the May 13 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for more information.
