Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

Seven junior high students were selected to advance from the local Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest. The contest is sponsored annually by the Franklin County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3992. Those first six entires earning the right to advance to district competition also earned a $100 U. S. Savings Bond from the local post.
