The Mount Vernon Junior High Eighth Grade Lady Tigers basketball team finished first place in district for the 2009-10 basketball season.
The team finished the season with a record of 14-1 and a district record of 9-0. This is the second year in a row for this group of girls to claim a perfect record in district competition. For more information, see the Feb. 11 edition of the Optic-Herald.
