Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

Kevin Pineda finished the District Cross Country meet in first place Saturday, Oct. 29 in Atlanta. He rounded the final corner of the three mile course with only 200 yards left in the race and was about 50 yards ahead of the pack. The Mount Vernon kids, in the background, started yelling and running along side him. He quickly passed all of them and won the race.
