Mount Vernon ISD is accepting nominations for students in first grade through twelfth grade for the Gifted/Talented Program through October 2, 2009.  Students may be nominated by teachers, parents, or any other person directly related to the student’s educational experience.  Testing of nominated students will begin after parental permission is obtained.  MVISD provides a gifted and talented program for those students who perform or show the potential to perform at a remarkably high level of accomplishment when compared to others of the same age, experience, or environment and who excel in specific fields.  Anyone wishing to nominate a student for the Gifted/Talented Program may pick up a nomination packet from the student’s school counselor.
